Determine the need for water storage in a Hybri-Pond:
If the stream channel is covered with 1 1/2” of rock, the pond surface must be at least three times the surface of the stream to
prevent the pond from dropping more than 1/2” at waterfall start-up. If the stream channel is covered with 3” of rock, the pond
surface must be at least five times the surface of the stream to prevent the pond from dropping more than 1/2” at waterfalll start up.
If a 1/2” or more of pond drop is acceptable, go to the Pond Systems section (pg. 83). If pond drop is not acceptable, use the sizing
chart below to select the Hybri-Pond Pack that will prevent pond drop.

Stream Width: The average width of the stream channel before
rocks are added.
Step 2: Choose the Gravel Depth
Gravel Depth: The average depth of rock covering the bottom of
the stream bed.

Note: The deeper the rock covering, the more water will be required to fill the
voids in the rock before water can flow over the top. Build the water feature as
desired, and if more storage is needed it can easily be added.
